We provide stylesheet development and maintenance services for:
|
 | | A screen FOSI designed in conjunction with other Arbortext Editor settings can | | | provide a more user- friendly authoring/editing environment.

|
With many years of experience working with structured markup applications and Arbortext’s
product line, we have a proven track record developing successful publishing applications
for a wide range of Fortune 500 clients. We know the technology. We know the territory.
We know the questions to ask. We know the pitfalls and potential time bombs to
look out for. We know how to avoid problems that can jeopardize the success
of an Arbortext publishing project.
With many years of print publishing experience, we have the trained eye
most SGML/XML generalists lack. So we can see the difference between a
one-point and a half-point rule. We speak the lingo. We know the difference
between a watermark and an overlay. When your experts refer to "signatures"
and “imposition,” we know what they're talking about. And we understand the
high standards that printing and publishing demand.
Consulting services for Arbortext’s product line are described below.
 | | Arbortext Editor window screen display
| | | Print/PDF output
| | | HTML output
| | | Multiple language stylesheets
| | | Modular stylesheets
| | | Stylesheet upgrades
| | | Stylesheet debugging | | | |
|
A screen FOSI for the Edit window display can be based on the formatting for printed/PDF output (not all formatting is supported in the Edit window).
|
We’ll help you determine your organization’s screen FOSI needs.
|
Users can be guided with text and graphics generated before and after SGML/XML elements. Note that since these instructions exist only for screen display, there’s no danger they will inadvertently end up in print.
|
We develop print stylesheets to meet your exact formatting specifications and publishing processes. We have developed stylesheets for single-page documents, multi-volume sets, and just about everything in between. We know that, like all batch programs, a print stylesheet isn't very useful if it isn't perfect.
|
We’ll work with you to determine what FOSIs are needed to support multiple languages and your organization’s publishing processes.
|
New and existing stylesheets can be modularized to share common coding and simplify the task of ensuring standardized formatting across publications. External documentation of modules and their use is included for future maintenance
|
Existing FOSIs can be upgraded to:
|
 | | Take advantage of new capabilities; for example, the new Region feature
| | | Optimize generated text display in the Edit window.
| | | Adhere to latest best practices for ease of future maintenance.
| | | Add new functionality | | | |
|
Stylesheet debugging services are available to investigate and fix FOSI problems.
|
Arbortext Editor can be difficult for even trained IT professionals to use. Fortunately, it can be customized.
|
Are your Arbortext Editor users having trouble using the software? Is productivity an issue?
|
The EZ Interface utilizes both halves of the human brain to make it unnecessary to turn tags off and on, or move from window to window.
|
Depending on the application, Real-Time Error Checking may be available to check the content of one or more specific elements.
|
SGML/XML text information can be leveraged in many ways to improve accuracy, streamline processes, and shorten publishing cycles. Consulting is available to help design custom publishing applications for Arbortext Editor to meet specific needs.
|
Do you have documents or publications that seem like good candidates for structured markup and Arbortext, but you’re wondering about the formatting? Arbortext's Publishing Engine has new formatting features that may help. Consulting is available from the Eyeball Test to a proof-of-concept project.
